About me

Hi there - I’m Emma Scott, a former teacher, qualified SENDCO and Specialist Dyslexia Teacher. I have over 17 years of teaching experience, initially at schools abroad and then working in some of the most successful Primary schools in Bristol. I went on to run the Learning Hub at a Bristol Independent school and gained my SENDCO qualification. I specialise in teaching dyslexic children, with a Level 7 Specialist Tutor Qualification from Bath Spa University and an accreditation from the British Dyslexia Association.

Each child is unique and has the ability to learn, develop and succeed when they are given the right support and encouragement. Dyslexia should not be seen as a barrier to achievement, but as a different way of processing information that requires understanding, patience and appropriate teaching approaches. I have a deep knowledge of how children learn and passion for helping children gain independence by finding strategies that are successful for them.

Whether your child has a formal diagnosis of dyslexia or just needs a boost with their literacy skills, I’m able to set out an individualised programme of learning for those who struggle, building confidence through small-step attainment in a safe and engaging learning environment.
